Happy Simple Life:
Un-Schedule
Un-Schedule
Similar to letting go, un-scheduling is a way to cut back on how much you try to fit into your schedule. Numerous articles have been written on how people our age and generation suffers from being over scheduled. We just think we can do so much. It's good and even healthy to relax, daydream and be spontaneous. How do you un-schedule your time? Make an effort to limit the amount of time you schedule for your everyday activities. You could even schedule your un-scheduled time! I do it. For example, when I don't have any plans one night, I like to schedule time for things I want to do. Sometimes doing nothing is something I like to do. Schedule your "nothings" to do and if something comes up short notice you know you will have plenty of time to schedule something new without feeling rushed.
For example, I know it takes me an hour to shower and get ready in the morning. I always schedule plenty of time to get ready. I get up an hour and a half before I have to leave for work. I also schedule at least an extra 10 minutes more than normal to drive somewhere. That way if there is traffic, a wreck, or I have a bad hair day (like today) I will have plenty of time and I wont be late. Being late is my biggest pet peeve. If you are late, it creates a stressful situation. We are trying to stay away from that!
Sometimes scheduling your un-schedule time can create a simpler life.
