I'm Thankful

It's Thanksgiving! I'm so thankful for thanksgiving, it's a great time to actually step back and realize how much we have to be thankful for. Today, I slept in for the first time in... months (I'm thankful for that) I got up and ready and went to a church by my grandma's for Thanksgiving. My dad's side of the family is so huge, we have to get a church for our turkey feast. It was fun to see all my cousins, aunts, and uncles. I love this time of year when we get to see each other more than the norm. We are all pretty close and I'm so thankful for it. It's time to list some things I'm thankful for. No particular order, just a thankful session.

  • My parents. My mom and dad are the best, I'm so ever grateful for them and all they do for me.
  • My siblings. I have the best brothers and sisters that are my best friends!
  • My amazing boyfriend. I am the luckiest girl in the world. He's the best thing that's ever been mine! He has taught me so much in the past couple years. More than I could even imagine. I'm so thankful to have met him and love him!
  • My friends. I've learned over the years who my true friends are. I'm so thankful to have such wonderful friends who would do anything for me.
  • The gospel. I'm so thankful to have grown up in the gospel.  Not very many people can say that.
  • Heavenly Father. I'm so thankful that I can pray anytime I want and know heavenly father is listening to me.
  • Jesus Christ. My savior, I'm so grateful for him.
  • My warm home. I'm so blessed to have a warm home to come home to.
  • My health. You never realize how important your health is until you are sick or see someone going through a health challenge. I'm so thankful that I have a strong, healthy body.
  • My nieces and nephews. Yes, they are handfuls at times... But I love them just like a little brother or sister.
  • My job opportunity. Not very many people my age actually have a successful job at my age. I was so blessed to have the opportunity to be come one of the best at what I do. I'm so thankful for my job.
  • Missionaries. I'm so thankful for all the missionaries across the world. To put two years aside to help the lord really means a lot. I'm thankful for all of them spreading the truth and giving people a chance to be together forever.
  • Food. I totally take food for granted. There are plenty of people around the world without food. I'm so thankful to come home to a full fridge and have a full tummy after every meal.
  • All the support I've had over the last 15 months in waiting for my missionary. I've met some pretty awesome people along the journey and I'm thankful for all of them. It hasn't been easy but with all the support I have they make this much easier.  I'm thankful for this time to grow and learn along with my boyfriend.
  • Freedom. Sometimes I think freedom gets over looked. I'm so thankful for my agency and freedom to choose.
  • USA. This goes along with freedom, but I'm so thankful to live in a place where I know I'm safe.
  • The opportunity to go to church every sunday. I love being able to go and learn and re-new my covenants every week. I'm also thankful for my calling in the church. I love being a primary teacher. It is so rewarding.
  • The leaders of the church. I'm so thankful for a living prophet who can lead and guide us.
  • Having a temple so close. I'm thankful I live in a place where there is a temple almost in every city. I mean, I can see three temples from my house and four with binoculars :) Living in different countries or even states don't have the ability to just say "Hey, let's go to the temple right now". Temples are far away from so many people. I'm thankful I can go to the temple when ever I want to :)
I know this list could go on and on. I just wanted to list out some for myself :) While I'm at it, I guess I can say happy 15 months tomorrow to Elder Holland :) I'm so proud of that guy and all the hard work he has put into his mission. In only 9 short months he will be home :) That will be the next best day!
